Why does my ipod change the sounds settings on my car and stereo?

I have an ipod. And every time i plug it into my car stereo or the stereo at home it changes all of the sound settings on my stereos. (you know like treble and bass etc)

You did not tell us the type of Ipod you have. However, I suggest that you restore ( reset) the OS, which I feel might correct the issue.
