Can you connect a laptop to your car stereo headunit?

If I were to buy a laptop could I connect it to my pioneer headunit? I noticed when I installed my headunit that it had a pair of rca jacks (or so it appeared) and my stereo has an auxillary function. Is it possible to do this so you can play MP3's right off the computer through your car's stereo sound? Can you connect a laptop to your car stereo headunit?
yes, you'll need a stereo cable from 1/8" stereo jack (laptop) to 2 RCA connectors (car). But make sure first that you have an aux imput on your car audio! The 2 RCAs you've seen might be just outputs (for external amplifier in your car). Not every car stereo comes with an aux inoput. If you really have one, it should be labeled as aux input. It this case all you need to do after you connect your cable is go on your car stereo prnt panel and select the imput (you'll probably have the options to play "radio", "cd" or "aux"(that's the one you want).

The big headache is how you run that cable out of the dashboard in such a way that you don't strangle it and still keep your headunit tight in place. (That's why my headunit has a front aux input). Good luck. Can you connect a laptop to your car stereo headunit?
it is pretty possible that the audio playback from your laptop is amplified and played by your pioneer car stereo system..you will be needing a cable which has a pair of rca jacks on one end (for the auxilliary function of your stereo system) and a headphone jack on the other end (for audio output of your laptop).then all u have to do is connect the cables in their respective slots..voila!!! its done..the sound from your laptop will be amplified and played back from your car stereo..

still no sound ?? try configuring your laptop's sound configuration for the volume control and other tweaks which are extremely easy to understand...

hope to hear from you..

enjoy !!!
