don't change the radio use the factory one go to this site

click on your vehicle logo and the aux interface

good luck

was the vehicle model and year a BIG SECRET ?
You need to tell us what kind of car you have. If you are looking to hook up your mp3 player there is a way to connect it to your radio. The part only works on certain cars though. Another option is to get a fm modulator from crutchfield.com. They have one just for mp3 players that will connect to the back of any cars radio.

If you plan on getting an aftermarket stereo then you can find that most new stereos actually have an aux port on them. Again i will need to know what kind of car you have to tell if you can get one to fit. Almost all cars will be able to fit an aftermarket system in them though. You may just need a mounting kit and wiring harness to put it in though. These can be bought at a best buy/circuit city if you buy your radio there though.

Some good brands for aftermarket stereos would be Pioneer and Alpine. I would recommened Alpine if you have an ipod because they have good integration between an ipod and their units. If it is just a mp3 player then i recommend a Pioneer. They make very good head units and all of their new units will have a aux input on the front. Good Luck!!!Is is possible to get an aux jack installed into a car stereo?
I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6鈥?/a>

It's not wireless so there's no interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. Basically it adds an AUX input to ANY radio. No searching for a clean channel.

It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch.

This is the answer. Totally versatile.

Here's one in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHBI0LBGh鈥?/a>
almost all factory car stereos have a "plug" in the back to allow for input. you need to get with the dealer of your car make and get the adapter. (they put them in for CD changers and stuff.) or like someone else suggested, you could get an FM adapter and use that. i have a Sony 5000 series with an aux jack in the faceplate, makes it really easy to switch from my mp3 player to my portable media device to my satellite radio. Is is possible to get an aux jack installed into a car stereo?
Yes you can. Any car audio place will tell you what you'll need. If you don't have an aftermarket CD player, you may have to buy one. But, depending on the year, you might not.
Definitely. Some stereos actually come with the aux. jack pre-installed. Like, for example, the Exad stereo by JVC. That's what I use and it works great for MP3 and multimedia players.
you'll have to get an aftermarket add on - but it can be done. the questions is WHY?
you could actually get an aftermarket stereo with an aux jack built in. just go to your local best buy. they'll take care of everything 4 u
You need to go to a good car audio store and see what your options are. They make options for this but you never know you might find a stereo that you like better.
Almost all aftermarket stereos have an aux jack for a CD player that can be used by an mp3 player. A lot have ipod controls or a headphone-style jack that you can plug into. Adding one to your factory stereo is not going to happen, sorry. About the only option there is to get one of those FM transmitters.
