In the majority of jurisdictions if it can be heard outside of the vehicle AT ALL, then you have committed the offense.
IF WE HAVE TO SHOUT ITS TOO LOUD !!What are the laws on a car stereo system being to high?
Depends onthe state, but here you are not supposed to have it to where the next car can hear it! I like it!
Its based on local ordinances. Has nothing to do with federal or state law. check the town you were in to see if its a legit law. What are the laws on a car stereo system being to high?
What is with the radio blasting? If you got tickets it was too loud, and what is going to happen to your hearing??
Many communities have disturbance of the peace laws that mandate that you should not make noise that can be heard more than 25-50 feet away. Why do you need your stereo turned up so loud for, anyway? If it's loud enough to be heard that far away, then you're hurting your ears.
It's more time of night. Kerfew. Whether it be 11 PM or 1AM.
One thing you have to understand....and I LOVE base.....it shakes floors. It rattles somebody's windows while you're in heaven. My husband and I get into it all the time. He's a base freak.....what he hears is like 1/10th of what I hear and FEEL!!! But you aren't aware of it until you're out of your environment. Certain sounds carry alot more than others. Literally....it can carry for blocks. My husband puts on headphones and I can hear it. And he wonders why his hearing is bad. LOL
You have to remember there are people with babies, and who are sick or work different shifts or have other medical problems when you're blasting through a neighborhood. They pretty much let anything go until it's past kerfew or you're in a young family or retirement area. Yes....you'll have certain people complain when a leaf hits the ground.....but for the most part....if you're getting a ticket....it's too loud.
I think you will find in most neighborhoods....if you're planning a bash....tell them, invite them and ask them to please call you and not the police first....they will be more than happy to spend a sleepless night or 2 if it's not a nightly event.
