Why is the back of my car stereo getting hot?

It is an old tape/am/fm stereo, and for some reason the back of the stereo is getting extremely hot. The fuses are fine, i rewired the ground to the frame of the car for a stronger connection. Why is the back of my car stereo getting hot?
The above two answers are wrong!

This is normal. Amplifiers get hot. Your stereo has an amp, all HU's do. The power transistors that feed the speakers are what's getting hot. They are fastened to a heat sink (the back of your radio) to dissipate heat better.

Umm...You have a lot to learn. So sit back and hush.
Might have a transformer overheating on the radio motherboard. Those older radios took a beating and kept on tickin, but when it starts overheating it's time for a new one.Why is the back of my car stereo getting hot?
your speaker maybe outdated

You shouldntof let SPARKY install it
they all get hot like that, i take my cds out and they are pretty warm, pioneer now makes radios with a fan on the back to keep the heat sink cool with air flow, theres not that much air moving around in the dash board so theres no real way to keep the things cool
check for faulty wiring's.
