How can i install my car stereo when the ignition wire is not working?

Im trying to connect my car stereo but it doesnt turn on when i turn on my car. There must be power reaching the stereo because a red light keeps flashing ( its a fake alarm light.).how can i rewire the ignition wire (which im assuming doesnt work) to fix the problem. Ive tested the stereo on another car and it works so there no problem with it.How can i install my car stereo when the ignition wire is not working?
Hi there you have two options. either wire in the ignition ire at your stereo to the battery feed wire to your stereo remember to disconnect the ignition wire to your car from the stereo, the other option is to run a wire from either the fuse box or from the ignition switch itself. Is it possible that you've only wired up the memory power feed rather than the main 12v one? I did that a while back and I just couldn't figure it out until I checked the back of the stereo and saw another red wire......

Failing that, if you've got a multimeter (under a tenner from Maplins) you could check which circuits are live and use one of them instead.

Failing that, wire it straight onto the battery connector, but use a fuse in the link. How can i install my car stereo when the ignition wire is not working?
Hi have you checked for blown fuse check for live feeds, one for acc on and one on permanently
