The question is how to connect a car stereo to my existing home stereo? I know there is a AUX input at the back of my Sony stereo. But the car stereo may not have the input jack....Is it possible to add a car Stereo unit to a home stereo system?
Not really a good idea. Car stereo stuff runs on DC so you will need either a car battery or a DC power supply to power it. I'd guess you don't want a car battery sitting on your floor. A decent DC power supply will cost around $50. However you could do it. I'm aware of the dilemma. I've looked for home audio receivers with HD Radio and have come up blank. To do this you need an automotive head unit with a PRE-AMP OUT - not IN - and connect that to the AUX IN of your Sony. To do it right you will need to know how many amps (amperes) the head unit requires and then buy a 12 volt DC power supply with at least that rating (more is better for "headroom").
Here's a power supply page from an electronics supplier:

hey guys, what you want to search for is CB Power Supplies for home...this is apparently common to do among CB enthusiasts.
